SROD ROBOTICS has introduced its advanced pipe inspection robot to Guangxi Iron and Steel Energy General Plant to address pipeline operation and maintenance challenges. The robot, equipped with a 360° high-definition camera, laser ranging modules, a portable control terminal, a high-brightness lighting source, and a six-wheel drive system, can navigate narrow, humid, and confined pipelines. It transmits real-time images and data, accurately locates cracks and fault points, and generates professional inspection reports.
Since its deployment, the robot has transformed the plant's maintenance mode, eliminating the need for personnel to enter wells. This has improved inspection efficiency, enhanced safety, and ensured stable operation of the drainage network. Compared to the previous maintenance approach requiring large-scale pipeline excavation, the robot has led to a year-on-year increase of 580,000 cubic meters in wastewater recovery, saving approximately 850,000 yuan in water purchase costs. Additionally, reducing excavation has decreased operational costs and environmental pollution.
Looking ahead, the Energy General Plant plans to expand the robot's operational scope to include desalted water pipeline lining corrosion detection and pipeline weld quality inspection. With SROD ROBOTICS's support, the plant aims to further enhance operational efficiency, reduce labor intensity, ensure safe operations, and contribute to cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and green development.
